Racing punters gathered at Mount Isa Race Club for a Melbourne Cup race day and luncheon on Tuesday.

About 200 racegoers attended the race meeting on November 3 to watch the Lexus Melbourne Cup, followed by a general race meeting.
Patrons dressed to impress as they enjoyed a two course lunch, lucky door prizes, Melbourne Cup sweep and fashions on the field.
The room cheered as Twilight Payment held an early lead during the Melbourne Cup and was never bettered over the 3200 metres to claim the victory.
As for the Mount Isa racing, jockey Ray Hancock came away with three from five victories.
Race one saw Ray Hancock on Whyoulikethat take out the Maiden Plate 900m, followed by Keith Ballard on Lingy and Terrence Hill on Hidden Storm.
The Class 4 plate 1000m was won by Dan Ballard on Hi Zero, followed by Ray Hancock on Static Lift and Raymond Vigar on Christmas Creek.
Ray Hancock was at it again in race three, winning the Class 1 Handicap 1100m on Warrumbungle, followed by Keith Ballard on Shivkhani and Dan Ballard on Fast Chips.
Race four, Open Handicap 1100m was won by Terrence Hill on Wicked Wiki, followed by Jason Babarovich on Safdie and Keith Ballard on Bowie Rocks.
The final race of the day was the Benchmark 60 Handicap 1450m which was won by Ray Hancock on King Landon, followed by Terrence Hill on Captain's Pick and Keith Ballard on Such a Drama Queen.
Mount Isa's next race meeting will be held on Saturday November, which will be the final race meeting for 2020. The first race meeting in 2021 is schedules for Saturday February 27.
